According to your text, one of the problems with initiating facilitating, and sustaining change is the mixed messages and indecision that are often communicated throughout the process. Barber (2009) contends that solutions to the problem in the form of a change initiative need to be communicated to stakeholders in a clear, concise and focused manner. Such messages are remembered and more likely to be carried out by stakeholders. He also contends that such communication should be frequent and interactive. In considering options for addressing the problem you identified previously, describe the steps you would take to clarify the message you deliver to stakeholders regarding the change that is necessary and provide a possible solution for addressing the issue. Indicate how you would effectively focus your message to gain and keep the attention of stakeholders while helping them manage their efforts and reduce feelings of being overwhelmed by the change process. Also describe your own experiences with communication during a change initiative. How were messages about vision, goals, processes and protocols communicated and what messages were motivating and/or discouraging to you and others during the process? What was the outcome of the initiative and what would you have done to alter those communications in order to enhance motivation within the organization?
