Analysis of a Social Media Campaign
Introduction
A social media campaign alludes to a group of coordinated events focused on achieving a
particular goal over a given period, with outcomes measured and tracked. It can be restricted to a
single platform or take place across different social networks. The social media campaign
selected for this analysis was conducted by Hello BC, a small tourism office from British
Columbia. This campaign took place with regard to the guidelines put in place to control the
spread of the Corona Virus across the world. The company used Twitter, Facebook, and
Instagram to create content that was relevant and responsible at the moment. The travel industry
has been affected since the pandemic’s outbreak, and the promotion messages directed towards
traveling are difficult right now. This company used social responsibility, changing their hashtag
from #ExploreBC to #ExploreBCLater, thus persuading the travelers to remain safe in their
homes apparently, but keep the company’s services at the back of their mind for future travel.
This campaign is regarded as one of the most successful because of the nature of the message,
the audience, and the timing. Further, by using several social media platforms, Hello BC was
able to reach out to many current and prospective customers.
