Her most famous novel is Recollections of the things to come(1986). Everything she wrote is interesting and well written. Elena had an obsession with time, place, days, night, and spirits. In her writing she included the fantasy, the history, and the already well know magic realism. In all her work, Garro denounces injustice, social problems, and family tides. She can be known as feminist, but also as Native American defender. Her writing is not confusing, but complicated because of the games with time. Because of her obra, she is known all arouns the world and it has been translated to many languages. Elena, even though she did not publish until very late of her life, she was just as famous as Garcia Marquez, Elena Garro, Juan Rulfo, Jorge Luis Borges, etc.The short story Blame the Tlaxcaltecs is one of the most famous short stories known in Mexico and it is read in most of the universities. In the story, there are two different levels of time, the real one and the imagined or dreamed. The reader does not know which of the times is the protagonist living, the present or the past because the two of them run parallel one to the other. You have to read the story several times to figure out the secrets involved with the life of Laura and that is what makes her unique. In my opinion, nobody plays with time better than Elena Garro.
